The loss of Jasprit Bumrah and Shaheen Afridi is a big blow for both the teams as the two bowlers would have played a significant role in the campaign. Indian pacer, Jasprit Bumrah has sustained a back injury due to which he has been ruled out of the tournament. Whereas Pakistan’s Shaheen Afridi is going to miss out on the campaign due to his knee injury.

This news has however leveled the playing fields for both teams ahead of the clash, but it is tough to say how the teams are expected to cope with the absence of their star bowler. India’s former cricketer, Irfan Pathan, tweeted that Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel’s absence would be a relief for other teams playing in the Asia Cup. His tweet was speculated to be a befitting indirect reply to Pakistan’s former cricketer Waqar Yunis.
