The Kerala vigilance department arrested a state electricity board (KSEB) engineer on Saturday for taking a bribe. However, the evidence has been swallowed by the engineer. Recently, the vigilance department caught an engineer red-handed for accepting a bribe and later swallowing the currency notes. The incident happened in Kerala’s Kannur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the reports, the customer approached Joe Jospeph, a sub-engineer, to change an electric line dangerously passing over his car shed. After paying the prescribed fees, Joseph asked the customer to pay an extra Rs 1,000 if he wanted to get the line changed immediately, otherwise, it would take a month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Soon after, the customer contacted the vigilance department officials to inform them about the incident. The vigilance sleuths then handed the customer Rs 1,000 in currency notes sprinkled with chemicals, which he then gave to Joseph. As soon as he accepted the bribe, the vigilance officials rounded up Joseph, but he somehow managed to escape. By the time he was caught, Joseph had swallowed the money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The vigilance department confirmed that they had seen him accept the bribe. However, he was soon rushed to the hospital because his hands turned red and to also check if the crucial evidence could be recovered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Friday, the Bihar vigilance department raided the premises of a bureaucrat Sanjay Kumar Rai and recovered around Rs 3 crores in cash, some important documents, and gold jewellery. Reportedly, several raids were carried out at different locations in connection with the disproportionate assets case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
