He further said that Shashi Tharoor was from the elite class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Rajasthan CM pointed out that he was from the elite class but the kind of experience which was needed to strengthen the party at booth, block and district levels, was with Kharge and could not be compared to Shashi Tharoor. Therefore, it would naturally be a one-sided contest for Kharge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After announcing his withdrawal from the Congress president race, Ashok Gehlot said that Kharge has a clean heart. He was from the Dalit community and was being welcomed everywhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, Shashi Tharoor claimed that it was a privilege to serve the only party in India with an open democratic process to choose its leader. If the Congress workers were satisfied with the party&#8217;s functioning, they should vote for Karge. If they wanted to change, he was there. But there was no ideological problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Starting a campaign from Nagpur, he claimed that he has 60 nominees. They were 12 states, all levels of leadership but all were proud workers. He thanked them for representing their faith in him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, Mallikarjun Kharge on Sunday said that he has not entered the president race to oppose anyone but to strengthen the party. He further said that in line with one person and one post principal, he resigned from the post of Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha on the day of nomination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He claimed that Congress leaders and workers implored him to run for the top post.
