The biggest reason behind it is that the ground water is so salty that even animals do not drink it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hence, Hamirpur people go down to the Ken river to fetch drinking water. But on Sunday afternoon a shocking incident took place in the village, when two elderly men got stuck in swamp while they were headed towards the Ken River to fetch some drinking water. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A viral video shared by the local media shows, the old men struggling to get out of the mud swamp. The steal utensil that the villagers use to carry water can also be seen next to the old men. Watch the video here:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\nhttps:\/\/twitter.com\/apnnewsindia\/status\/1579066395132067840?s=20&#038;t=OQjCHWBi7cXVLJ-YP6SqJQ\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Seeing the two villagers constantly drowning in the swamp, the hands of the officials and villagers started to swell and with the help of the area panchayat members, including Amit Singh, Sudhir Singh, Santosh Tiwari and Rangbahadur, both the villagers were somehow pulled out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The rescue took several hours and later with the help of village Panchayat and police officials, both the elderly men were pulled out of the mud swamp of Ken river. Suresh Kumar Saini, the Sisolar police station in-charge said he has not yet seized of the matter and would further look into it. However, he stated that the mud near the river has turned swamp after visarjan and the old men were asked not to go near the river. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Having a scarcity of water in several nearby villages like Gaughat, Bakcha, Chhani, Khair, Baijemau, Gadha, and Parehta.
