{"id":414079,"date":"2022-11-28T17:27:03","date_gmt":"2022-11-28T11:57:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/?p=414079"},"modified":"2022-11-28T17:27:09","modified_gmt":"2022-11-28T11:57:09","slug":"mcd-elections-delhi-bjp-internal-survey","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/politics\/mcd-elections-delhi-bjp-internal-survey\/","title":{"rendered":"MCD elections: Delhi BJP internal survey confirms party victory on 170 of 250 wards"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Bharatiya Janata Party might win 170 out of 250 wards in the ensuing Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections to be held next month, said Delhi BJP media head Harish Khurana on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The senior BJP leader made the above remarks citing an internal survey conducted by Delhi BJP ahead of polls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Internal survey shows BJP may win 170 of 250 wards in Dec 4 MCD polls: Party leader<\/p>&mdash; Press Trust of India (@PTI_News) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PTI_News\/status\/1597172346103615488?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 28, 2022<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Delhi BJP media head Harish Khurana also said that the sample size of the survey was 43,750 voters and was conducted from November 13 to November 25.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The BJP is going to win 170 seats in the upcoming MCD polls, according to the survey conducted in all 250 wards, said Khurana adding that, there are 20-25 wards where BJP will lead in votes by a minute fraction of votes while the party is in a very strong position in 150 wards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adesh Gupta, the president of the BJP in Delhi, said during his Sunday campaigning that the party would win 180 wards in the MCD elections. On December 4, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) will hold elections for its 250 wards. Results are going to be announced on December 7.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Arvind Kejriwal, the convener of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the current chief minister of Delhi, believes that the BJP will only be able to win 20 seats in the upcoming elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the 2017 municipal corporation elections, the BJP defeated the AAP and Congress by winning 181 of the 270 wards that were up for vote. While Congress was limited to 30 municipal wards, the AAP had secured 48.
