President Draupadi Murmu has approved the new flag of the Indian Navy and the new design of the Indian Navy Crest, which was unveiled on Navy Day in Visakhapatnam on Sunday December 4, 2022. The government took this step to get rid of things related to the colonial era and the Indian Navy Crest has been changed to a new design in line with the national effort. Along with this, the new ensign of the Navy was unveiled as Defence got rid of the symbol of the colonial era. In the new flag of the Navy, the St. George’s Cross has been removed. The new ensign has been redesigned with a blue octagon with twin borders red horizontal and vertical lines on a white background.
