An incident has come to the fore from Uttar Pradesh\u2019s Kanpur Dehat region where a man identified as Balwant Singh died in police custody after allegedly being tortured. Balwant was picked up by for questioning in relation to being the suspect in a robbery case of 4.5 lakh Rs robbery businessman Chandraban Singh, died in custody in Dehat\u2019s Shivali Police station Tuesday Morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 27-year-old victim was reportedly picked up for questioning while he was on returning home by the police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kanpur Dehat\u2019s SI of police Suniti reportedly suspended 11 police personnel on the charges of negligence after the victim\u2019s family alleged that Balwant was tortured in police custody. The District Magistrate of Kanpur Dehat also ordered an inquiry into the matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Cases have also been filed against 5 police personnel and 1 doctor in the matter, according to reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The police officials, including the doctor, after the death of Balwant Singh, had cited that Balwant had complained about chest pains during questioning after which he was rushed to a nearby hospital. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The victim, Balwant Singh, had 22 inflicted wounds on his body. The videos of the incident have also been going viral where the victim\u2019s lower region can be seen bruised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The family of the victim after being handed over the body of the Balwant took him home and discovered the wounds on his body. The family of the victim started a commotion and denied performing the last rites of their Balwant until there is post mortem carried out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The family had asked the CM to come to visit the family and also sought legal action against the allegedly guilty police officials, according to reports.
