He paid tribute to Atalji, who laid the foundation of BJP. Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh were also present there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was President Draupadi Murmu, who first paid tribute to Atal ji at his tomb. After this, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar offered flowers to him. A prayer meeting was also organized on this occasion, in which bhajan singer Anoop Jalota sang bhajans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier, Prime Minister Modi said in a tweet, &#8220;Tributes to Atal ji on his birth anniversary. His contribution to India is immeasurable. His leadership and vision inspire millions.&#8221; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rajnath Singh had said, \u201cI bow down to Atalji, the source of inspiration for all of us and revered former Prime Minister, on his birth anniversary. He wrote a new chapter of development and good governance in India and gave a new identity to the country on the world stage. He was not only a visionary, but also an erudite. His contribution in nation building is unforgettable.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the unversed, on this day in the year 1924, former Prime Minister of India Atal Bihari Vajpayee was born. He was one of the founders of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He became the Prime Minister of the country thrice on his first term in 1996 was only for 13 days. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After this, he again became the Prime Minister in 1998 and held this post for 13 months. In the year 1999, he became the Prime Minister of the country for the third time. He was the first non-Congress leader to complete his term as Prime Minister.
