On Saturday, a large mob of 100 African nationals surrounded and clashed with a police team after they apprehended three Nigerians for illegally staying in the country. The incident took place in the Neb Sarai area of south Delhi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the reports, a Narcotics Cell team went to Raju Park in the Neb Sarai area at 2:30 pm where they detained three Nigerians whose visas were expired. Meanwhile, a mob of over 100 people of African origin surrounded them and obstructed the police operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
DCP (South) Chandan Chowdhary said in the meantime, two of the three detained managed to flee during the chaos but the police managed to catch one of them, 22-year-old Philip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The police further said the joint team from the Narcotics Squad and the Neb Sarai Police Station again visited Raju Park at 6:30 pm and apprehended four African nationals, including a woman. The police said around 150 to 200 people of African origin again surrounded the police team and helped the detainees flee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, the police managed the situation and brought them to the Neb Sarai Police Station. Their deportation proceedings are underway, the police said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The four nationals have been identified as Kene Chukwu David Williams, Igwe Emmanuel Chimezie, Aziegbe John, and Queen Godwin.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
