On January 12, National Youth Day is observed to commemorate the birth anniversary of India’s eminent philosopher and thinker Swami Vivekananda. The day is observed across the country to honour Swami Vivekananda’s principles and teachings. Every year on this day, schools and colleges host a variety of events such as lectures, youth festivals, seminars, Yogasanas, essay competitions, and recitations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1984, the Indian government named the day National Youth Day to honour and preserve his principles, teachings, and contributions, and to urge young people to follow in his footsteps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Swami Vivekanand was born in Kolkata on January 12, 1863. The spiritual leader and social reformer worked as a social reformer, philosopher, author, and religious teacher his entire life. His ideas and beliefs have had a tremendous impact on India’s efforts to eradicate child marriage and illiteracy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hubballi-Dharwad National Youth Festival 2023<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
This year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will kick off the four-day National Youth Festival in Hubbali, Karnataka, today. “Viksit Yuva – Viksit Bharat” is the theme of this festival. The festival will take place at Hubballi-Dharwad from the 12th to the 16th of January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Festival will feature the Youth Summit, which will feature plenary discussions on five themes derived from G20 and Y20 events, namely the Future of Work, Industry, Innovation, and 21st Century Skills; Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction; Peacebuilding and Reconciliation; Shared Future-Youth in Democracy and Governance; and Health and Well-being.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This festival will also feature a number of competitive and non-competitive events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Folk dances and melodies will be among the competitive events. Yogathon will be one of the non-competitive events. In addition, eight indigenous sports and martial arts will be showcased. Food Festival, Young Artist Camp, adventurous sports activities, and unique Know Your Army, Navy, and Air Force camps are among the other attractions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
