A senior official said that Tiwari wanted to marry the teenager who refused and quit her job at the grocery store.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A video of the incident which has gone viral on social media platforms and sparked outrage among users, shows the victim being dragged by her hair through the street by Tiwari who is brandishing a large knife\u2014apparently the one he used to slice the teen\u2019s throat\u2014in his hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\nhttps:\/\/twitter.com\/drunkjournalist\/status\/1627286237446012929\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Police took cognizance of the incident after the video went viral on social media platforms and were informed by the bystanders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Read Also<\/strong>: <a href=\"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/india-news\/asaduddin-owaisi-delhi-residence\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/india-news\/asaduddin-owaisi-delhi-residence\/\">Fourth time since 2014: Asaduddin Owaisi says stones pelted at Delhi residence<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to reports, Tiwari also owed the victim months of pending salary but refused to pay her when the teen asked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reports quoting a senior official said that the accused, reportedly inebriated, barged into the minor\u2019s home on Saturday evening and started verbally abusing the family. Tiwari then allegedly slashed at the girl with a knife causing a deep cut on her neck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The teenager tried to escape but was chased and caught by the assailant who then dragged her by the hair through the street while reportedly attacking her with a knife, repeatedly until she collapsed on the road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An official said that the one of the eyewitnesses\u2019 informed the police who arrived at the scene and rescued the girl and rushed her to a hospital where her condition is stated to be critical.
