In a shocking incident, the body of an unidentified woman was found dumped inside a plastic drum, the third of its kind in three months at a railway station in Bengaluru, police said on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to an official, a drum covered with clothes and with its lid tightly shut, was found near one of the entry gates of the Baiyappanahalli railway station in Bengaluru between 10 am to 11 am on Monday morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said that upon receiving information, a police team arrived at the spot and found the body of a woman, aged around 31 to 35 years, inside the plastic container.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Reports said that RPF personnel at the Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal, where container was dumped, found foul smell emanating from the plastic drum next to an automatic sliding door and informed the Baiyappanahalli police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The incident is the third of its kind in three months at a Bengaluru railway station. On January 4 this year, the decomposing body of a woman in her late 20s was found in a plastic drum by cleaning staff at the Yesvantpur railway station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Read Also<\/strong>: NIA raids multiple locations in Kashmir in terror funding probe<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n In December last year, another body of a woman was found in a yellow sack in one of the unreserved coaches of Bangarapet-Sir M Visvesvaraiah Terminal, Baiyappanahalli MEMU Special.<\/p>\n\n\n\n An official said that initial investigation revealed that three men had transported the drum in an autorickshaw and dumped it near the railway station\u2019s entrance on Monday morning, adding that the body was reportedly in a train from Machlipatnam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A senior official of the Bengaluru Railway Police said a police team was dispatched to Machlipatnam to identify the body but the corpse still remains a jane doe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The official acknowledged that the police are seeing a pattern as the bodies are being dumped at railway stations in the same manner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n He said that a case has been registered and further investigation is underway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
