A resolution passed by the United States Senate termed Arunachal Pradesh as an integral part of India and recognized the McMahon Line as the international boundary between China and the Northeastern Indian state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
US Senator Bill Hagerty along with Senator Jeff Merkley introduced the resolution in the American Senate highlighting the critical need for the United States to \u201cstand shoulder-to-shoulder\u201d with its strategic partners in the Indo-Pacific region, especially India, to counter \u201cgrave threats\u201d to a free and open Indo-Pacific from China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Senator Hagerty said the bipartisan resolution expresses the US Senate\u2019s unequivocal support for recognizing Arunachal Pradesh as an integral part of India and condemning China’s military aggression to change the status quo along the Line of Actual Control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The resolution also called for further enhancing the US-India strategic partnership and the Quad in support of the Free and Open Indo-Pacific, Hagerty said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The US Senate\u2019s resolution comes in the backdrop of a huge clash between Indian and Chinese forces\u2014the biggest clash in past six years\u2014in the Eastern Sector along the Line of Actual Control. It reaffirms the United States recognizing the McMahon Line as the international boundary between China and India\u2019s Northeastern state of Arunachal Pradesh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
