BJP MLA Manish Jaiswal, Tuesday, protested against the ban on restrictions imposed on Ram Navami procession in Jharkhand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking during the Question Hour in Jharkhand Assembly, Jaiswal created a commotion with his animated protest as he tore his kurta (shirt) while demanding that a DJ music system be allowed in the Ram Navami procession in his constituency Hazaribag.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The BJP legislator asked if Jharkhand was being ruled by the Taliban and claimed that police had lodged FIRs against innocent people while five persons are staging a fast unto death protest in Hazaribag to push their demand for allowing a DJ in the Ram Navami procession. He also alleged that \u201cdeliberate attempts\u201d were being made to destroy the 104-year-old tradition of Ram Navami procession in Hazaribagh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A massive ruckus was witnessed in the Jharkhand Assembly as BJP MLA protested against the restrictions while raising \u2018Jai Hanuman\u2019 and \u2018Jai Shri Ram\u2019 slogans in the House.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jharkhand Minister Mithilesh Thakur claimed that those staging protests in Hazaribag are BJP workers. He said that the state government is only complying with orders given by the Supreme Court and the high court with regards to decibel limit\u2026 \u201cWe are real devotees of Shri Ram because we respect all religions – Hindu, Muslim, Sikh and Christian.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recently, a protest rally was staged in Hazaribag against the district administration ban on playing recorded music and carrying traditional weapons including lathis during Ram Navami processions in the area, which are held for a longer period of time here as compared to other parts of Jharkhand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Congress MLA Deepika Pandey Singh hit back at the BJP claiming that the saffron party had \u201cinsulted\u201d her by calling her a ‘Nagarvadhu’ (bride of the city).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Congress legislator reached the well of the house and lashed out at the BJP saying that they (BJP) only act in the name of Hindus but aren\u2019t real Hindus as they only want a city bride, not Gods and Goddesses\u2026 “I am a mother. I am a sister. They (BJP) don’t want Goddesses and Gods. They want a city bride. They are not Hindus, they act in the name of Hindus.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
