Mudda Discusses PM Security Threat Assessment<\/em><\/p>\n

The Union Home Ministry has issued new security guidelines for the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the states and union territories and advised to scale down his road shows due to \u201call time high\u201d threat assessment. Even ministers and senior officials will not be allowed to come too close to him unless cleared by Special Protection Group (SPG).<\/p>\n

According to reports that close protection team (CPT) of the Prime Minister\u2019s security has been briefed about the new rules and the threat assessment and been instructed to frisk even ministers and senior bureaucrats if necessary.<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, Pune Police told a court that they have sized a \u201cletter\u201d mentioning a plan to assassinate Modi in \u201canother Rajiv Gandhi-type incident\u201d. The police claimed that the purported letter was recovered from the Delhi residence of one of the five people arrested for having illegal \u201clinks\u201d with the banned Communist Party of India (Maoists)-CPIM.<\/p>\n

The issue of Prime Minister\u2019s security is very important given the present scenario. APN chose to conduct a healthy debate on the issue in its landmark afternoon show Mudda on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

The participants of the debate included-Raju Vaghmare, spokesperson of Congress party, Ashok Goel, spokesperson of BJP, Syed Afzal Abbas, Spokesperson of JD-U, Vibhuti Narain Rai, former IPS official and Atul Chandra, a senior political commentator and Govind Pant Raju, the consultant editor of APN.\u00a0 Anant Tyagi anchored the show.<\/p>\n

Raju Waghmare, the spokesperson of Congress, while opening the debate said, that BJP considers PM Modi as a world leader. But in fact Modi has curtailed the size of other party leaders.<\/p>\n

He alleged that Modi has hijacked BJP has become a tent tied with a pole. He alleged that the pillar-Modi has now shaken in the recent developments, especially the bye-polls in several states.<\/p>\n

Waghmare alleged that in the last four years government has nothing to mention about its achievements. However, the present government pushed the whole country 50 years behind by implementing demonetization and introducing GST.<\/p>\n

On the other band Ashok Goel, the spokesperson of BJP claimed that PM Modi is the most popular leader in the country and threat to his security is an important issue. He said that BJP will huddle among its leaders about PM\u2019s security threat assessment.<\/p>\n

Goel asserted with confidence that there would be no difficulty for BJP in winning 2019 Parliamentary elections. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has very clear stance on the issue that party will appeal the voters on the basis of performance of the government. He said that government has done its best for the welfare of the country and its citizens.<\/p>\n

Syed Afzal Abbas, the spokesperson of Janata Dal United (JDU) said that after the security threat assessment against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he would probably choose to address more public rallies instead of road shows.<\/p>\n

He also said that there are several leaders in BJP, but Modi connects with people quite easily. He also saw more important role for the BJP\u2019s social media team after the warning issued by Home Ministry.<\/p>\n

JDU spokesperson said that Prime Minister belongs to the whole country but during the elections Modi will campaign for his Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP). However, his security is of utmost importance for the country.<\/p>\n

Vibhuti Narayan, former IPS official said that distancing from the people is a very difficult suggestion for any political leader. He also said that UP Chief Minister Adityanath Yogi is not a popular leader in comparison of Prime Minister Narendra Modi<\/a>. This was the reason why Yogi could not get BJP candidate win Gorakhpur parliamentary constituency.<\/p>\n

Atul Chandra, the distinguished political commentator said that road show and public rallies leave very strong impact among the voters. He opined that opposition parties also have stronger presence on the social media platforms than BJP.<\/p>\n

He said that after the Home Ministry\u2019s security assessment, Prime Minister may opt for addressing public meetings in Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, West Bengal and in certain areas in Bihar- instead of road shows.<\/p>\n

However, Atul Chandra, raised question as to why apprehensions were being expressed on the loyalty of even ministers and people around him. He said that Prime Minister is losing popularity as was indicated in the recent elections.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
