A court in Delhi on Wednesday extended the judicial custody of former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia till April 17 in a money laundering case being probed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with its ongoing investigation in the purported Delhi excise policy scam case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The senior Aam Aadmi Party leader was arrested by the ED on March 9 in Tihar Jail where he was lodged after being arrested by the CBI in connection with the alleged Delhi liquor policy scam case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Manish Sisodia was arrested by the CBI on February 26 in connection with its ongoing probe into the purported Delhi excise policy \u2018scam\u2019 case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At an earlier hearing, the ED had told the court that Sisodia was allegedly involved in \u201clarge-scale destruction of digital evidence to impede the investigation\u201d and had purportedly changed and destroyed 14 phones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Read Also<\/strong>: Pakistani man caught trying to enter India along Gujarat border: BSF<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n The ED had also alleged that the former Deputy CM had withheld information which is in his “exclusive knowledge” and “extremely relevant to the investigation”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n On Monday, a CBI court extended the judicial custody of Manish Sisodia till April 17. The CBI had told the court that Sisodia is granted bail, it will compromise the agency\u2019s investigation so far as the bail might sway and interfere. The federal agency also claimed that the investigation is at a crucial stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The CBI also submitted that in 2021 between March 14-17, the South Group was residing in The Oberoi where they held a meeting and made printouts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The 51-year-old AAP veteran\u2019s bail petition was junked by a court last week, who in its ruling noted that prima facie, Sisodia appears to be the \u201carchitect\u201d of the criminal conspiracy in the case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Sisodia, who is currently in ED custody, has filed another bail plea which will be heard by a Delhi court on April 12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
