In a chilling incident, a body of a two-year-old girl who was missing for two days in Greater Noida was found in a laptop bag hanging on her neighbour’s door on Sunday. The accused is currently absconding, said officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The deceased, identified as Mansi, lives with her parents and her seven-month-old brother in a rented house in Devla village. Both her parents are daily wage earners who work in a factory nearby.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Friday, Mansi’s father Shiv Kumar went to work and her mother Manju went to the market to buy groceries. Kumar said their daughter tried to match steps with her mother but couldn’t so she returned home. When Manju reached home she couldn’t find Mansi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mansi’s mother looked for her everywhere in the neighbourhood. The neighbour, who is a suspect, also helped them find her. After eight hours of looking for her, they approached the Surajpur police station and find the missing complaint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The couple also sensed a foul smell coming out of the accused’s room who lives opposite their house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The couple then informed the police on Sunday at around 10 pm. DCP Singh said during the search, they found the laptop bag hanging from the rear side of the door. And when they opened it they were shocked to see the body.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Due to the heat, the body started decomposing, Singh said. The police assume that the accused strangled the girl to death with a piece of cloth. No external injuries were reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n ACP-3 Sumit Shukla said four teams have been formed to trace him and one team has been sent to his hometown in Ballia. The police have registered a murder case against the accused.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Earlier there was a suspicion of rape, but it was not confirmed in the post-mortem report. The accused has absconded but police teams are looking for him, said senior Noida police officer Rajeev Dixit<\/p>\n\n\n\n
