Uttar Pradesh gangster Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf Ahmed were shot dead late on Saturday. They were on their way for a medical check-up in Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh, reports said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The firing took place inside MLN Medical College premises and around two to three people opened fire on them. Atiq and Ashraf were summoned by the Uttar Pradesh Police at the Dhoomanganj police station on Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Atiq Ahmed was seen on TV and was speaking to the reporters when he was shot. Reports also said he was surrounded by cops when unknown men opened fire on him and his brother. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Atiq Ahmed’s son Asad was killed in an encounter in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh on Thursday. He was killed along with Ghulam, both of whom were wanted in the Umesh Pal murder case of Prayagraj. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
After Asad’s death, his family repeatedly sought protection from the courts. Atiq had also sought security from the Supreme Court in connection with the murder of Umesh Pal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Atiq along with two others was sentenced to life imprisonment while Ashraf was acquitted in the case last month.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
