Uttar Pradesh government has formed a judicial commission to investigate into the encounter of gangster Atiq Ahmed\u2019s son Asad Ahmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Asad Ahmed was encountered by the UP Special Task Force (STF) on April 14 near Jhansi while he was on his bike with one of his aide Ghulam Hassan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Asad and Hassan reportedly fired on the STF team while they were trying to chase both of them, during this operation the STF personnel gunned down both Asad and Hassan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Asad was one of the shooters who was involved in the shootout of Umesh Pal, the key witness of late BSP MLA Raju Pal murder case in 2005.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Asad was on a run since the murder of Umesh Pal and was encountered by the STF after 48 days during their search operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The UP government has now constituted a two member judicial commission to probe the killings of Ahmed and Hassan in the Jhansi encounter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two member committee includes Retired High Court Judge Rajeev Lochan Mehrotra who will head the committee and retired DG Vijay Gupta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Slain Gangster Atiq Ahmed,his brother Ashraf Ahmed, Atiq\u2019s son Asad Ahmed and their aides were the key accused in the murder of  Umesh Pal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Atiq Ahmed, who was in Sabarmati Jail was brought to Prayagraj by road for the investigation and questioning of the Pal Murder case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Atiq and his brother Ashraf were also killed in police custody by three shooters posing as journalists on the night of April 15 while both the Ahmed brothers were being taken for medical examination in Prayagraj.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The UP Police announced the formation of two Special Investigation Teams (SITs) to snoop into the shootout of the gangster brothers and also a three member judicial enquiry committee was also announced by the state government to probe the killings of the both.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
