Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar met his West Bengal counterpart Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata today along with Bihar deputy chief minister and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav in efforts being made to cobble together a coherent Opposition response against the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party,.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Trinamool Congress chief Banerjee said all like-minded parties have to come together and fight the BJP unitedly when she spoke to the media after her meeting with Kumar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Bihar CM was in Kolkata with his deputy Yadav to work towards greater opposition convergence with not everything final given the murmurs of disapproval coming from the Nationalist Congress Party vis-a-vis opposition unity for the upcoming 2024 general elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kumar and Yadav met Banerjee in West Bengal state secretariat Nabanna earlier today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Post the meeting, the Trinamool chief, who had earlier said her party would contest alone in the 2024 parliamentary elections with Samajwadi Party’s Akhilesh Yadav, said all opposition parties are going to fight the elections united against the BJP and that there is no personal ego and they aim to work collectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With Kumar and Yadav by her side, Banerjee said that she requested Kumar that as Jayaprakash Narayan\u2019s movement started from Bihar, an all-party meeting should be held in Bihar, where they can decide their further plans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Banerjee added the opposition needs to send a message that they are united and that she has no objections and she wanted the BJP to become a zero. Attacking the BJP, she added that they (BJP) has become a big hero with the support of media and lies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
