A shocking incident has come to light from Kerala’s Thrissur district where an eight-year-old girl died after her mobile phone exploded in her hand. The incident took place at around 10:30 pm on Monday at Thiruvilwamala.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Pazhayannur Police is probing the case and suspect that the overheating of the battery may be led to the explosion of the phone. Reports state that the deceased, identified as Adithya Sree, was watching videos for a long time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Adithya, daughter of Pazhayannur block panchayat former members Ashok Kumar and Saumya, suffered grievous injuries on her face. Sree’s fingers on her right hand got severed and also her palm was found broken, said police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The mishap occurred when only Stree, a Class third student at Thiruvilawamala Christ New Life School, and her grandmother were present at the house. The phone exploded when her grandmother left for the kitchen to take food.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Forensic experts will reach the house to complete the formalities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Earlier in February, a 68-year-old man from Madhya Pradesh’s Ujjain district was found dead inside his home with his face and other upper body parts severely damaged after the battery of the mobile phone exploded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Last year, an eight-month-old infant succumbed to her burn injuries after the battery of a mobile phone kept next to her in charging mode exploded in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly.
