The Indian Army on Sunday put out a statement saying it got in touch with the police administration and assured proper investigation into the alleged molestation of jawan’s wife by 40 people in Tamil Nadu.

However, the Tamil Nadu Police has contradicted the claims by the Army personnel that his wife was stripped half naked and beaten by men in the state. Officials in the state are aware about the matter as per the report.

According to report, the jawan’s wife alleged that she was attacked and molested by more than 40 people. They verbally abused her using vulgar language. They also touched her inappropriately. They were not letting her family live in peace. They were threatening her, she said in Vellore on Sunday.

The police said their initial investigation shows that no one has attacked or insulted the jawan’s wife. The case is more of a dispute over a land lease between the soldier’s wife and some men. The police also said the department has given protection to her and observed that the video message released by the soldier has been exaggerated.
