Senior US diplomat Atul Keshap on Monday asserted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi\u2019s visit to the US is truly momentous and it underlines the increasing importance of India in global affairs. It also emphasizes the deepening ties between the two nations. Atul Keshap who is the president of the US-India Business Council (USIBC) noted that the visit holds importance as it will be the third state visit from India to the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Keshap added that the visit is also a reflection of friendship and trust between the people of the United States and the people of India. The preceding two state visits included President S Radhakrishnan in June 1963 and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in November 2009. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to reports, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been invited by President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden for an official state visit. The state visit also involves a State Dinner scheduled to take place on June 22. The preparation of this historic state visit is likely to gain momentum this week with the US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan heading to India for the second round of the iCET Dialogue with his Indian counterpart Ajit Doval. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Furthermore, Indian Ambassador to the US Taranjit Singh Sandhu opined that the ceremonial and substantive part of the state visit will fully complement each other and will be unparalleled. Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken asserted that the BIden administration notes the defining relationship as a unique connection between the world\u2019s oldest and largest democracies together with the importance of the partnership in a shared commitment to address regional and global issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He further remarked that in the previous year, trade between both the nations reached a record $191 billion dollars, making the US as the largest trading partner for India. He asserted that the American companies have now invested at least $54 billion in India.
