The Indian coast guard evacuated all 50 personnel from the jack up rig \u2018key Singapore\u2019 operating off the coast near Okha in Gujarat. Everybody was tensed about the outcome of the mission. The bravery of the Indian Coast guard was applauded after successful evacuation. At the time of the rescue operation, 50 crew members were present inside the oil rig. Inspector General AK Harbola of Coast Guard, the head of the North west Command said they had been directing everyone to vacate the oil rigs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier, the merchant mariners and the fisherman had been warned about the approaching cyclone Biparjoy. They were asked not to go into the sea. The Indian Coast Guard launched the rescue operation of the oil rig crew members by sending one advanced light helicopter. He said it was difficult to carry out the rescue operation at night due to the stormy weather at the seas. In charge of Okhla Oil Rig, Ritesh Ganguly did not comment on the rescue operation. While Ayodhya Gaur,spokesperson of Cairn Oil and Gas said everyone at the site was safe. He added that they were in touch with the local administration and were taking all precautions in place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A senior official of the shipping department said the rig on which the crew members had been trapped could withstand winds upto 150 knots . The decision to evacuate the oil rig members was taken after a high level meeting in Delhi on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Biparjoy is likely to reach the western coast of Gujarat on Thursday afternoon.
