The police were in shock when they stepped into a house in Dehradun on Tuesday. The police came to the place following complaints from neighbors who complained foul smell emanating from inside the house. A 25-year-old man and his wife were found dead. Their 6 day old baby laid on the floor between their bodies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to reports, the couple died allegedly by suicide at least three days ago. To one\u2019s surprise, the newborn survived lying next to the corpses, before the police came to the spot. The child was immediately taken to Government Doon Medical College and Hospital (GDMCH), where the doctors affirmed that the newborn was in a dehydrated state but was safe. The baby boy survived without food and water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As per officials, the couple was identified as Kashif and Anam. Kashif is a native of Uttar Pradesh\u2019s Saharanpur. On June 8, Anam, his wife gave birth to a baby boy. The couple had shifted into a rented accommodation on Turner Road four months earlier. Kashif worked as a crane operator and Anam was a homemaker. The couple got married a year ago. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking to a newspaper about the infant\u2019s condition, Dr Yusuf Rizvi, chief medical superintendent at GDMCH said that the baby was brought to the hospital in a dehydrated state and was immediately put on fluids. The doctor asserted that the baby is stable now and is under observation in the ICU. He further affirmed that the child does not have any injuries or physical issues. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, the police noted that the possible reasons of the suicide could be financial troubles, adding that the man was under a lot of financial strain. As per initial investigation into the matter, Kashif had taken loans and had financial burdens. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kashif\u2019s first wife, Nusrat, told India Today that she had been trying to reach out to her estranged husband for the last two days. Nonetheless, she was unable to get in touch with him.
