14 Opposition parties will try to strike a deal among themselves ahead of 2024 general elections but any pre poll pact between the Congress and the AAP(Aam Aadmi Party) will be difficult, given complexity in their relationship. AAP officials stated that Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal requested senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi with folded hands during the meet to decide a date for a meeting over tea between leaders of the both parties to resolve differences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Congress leaders refused to comment on the Delhi Ordinance. Recently AAP had appealed to the Congress party to denounce the ordinance. The Delhi Chief Minister attended the Opposition meeting with three other AAP Leaders Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, Sanjay Singh and Raghav Chadha where senior leaders from various parties urged the Congress Party to denounce the Ordinance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kejriwal wanted an instant decision while leaders of the other parties said that the Congress party should think over it and then take a decision. Later ,the AAP said it would not be able to attend future meetings of Opposition parties until the Congress Party makes a decision on the Ordinance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Two senior Congress leaders indicated on Saturday that chances of any pre poll adjustment with the AAP was not possible and the party will be looking to strengthen its existing alliances in states such as Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Kerala, Bihar and Tamil Nadu. The Congress party leaders said they will try to strike a deal with the Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Senior Congress leaders said AAP had been trying to corner the Congress in many states and said it would be difficult to form an alliance with it. The Congress leaders added the AAP had fought in Goa and Karnataka only to help the BJP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They said AAP was Congress\u2019s main rival in Delhi and Punjab. The Delhi unit of Congress opposes the AAP and would not support AAP under any circumstances.
