Manipur, the northeastern state of India has been witnessing escalating violence for more than a month. On Sunday, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh met Union Home Minister Amit Shah to discuss the situation in the state. Following the meeting, the Chief Minister conveyed that the Union Home Minister expressed concern over the changing nature of violence in the state. CM N Biren Singh added that the situation in the northeastern state is very chaotic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
While speaking to PTI in Imphal after returning from New Delhi on Sunday night, the Chief Minister stated that the changing nature of violence from the exchange of fire in the peripheral areas to the civil unrest in the valley district has become a matter of concern for Amit Shah. He claimed that the initial phase of the violence was highly political and sensitive. However, at present he cannot say what is happening. He expressed that the situation in the state is very chaotic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
N Biren Singh\u2019s statement follows amid the state police and central security force\u2019s crackdown on bunkers allegedly established by militants in the crisis-hit Manipur. According to reports, the forces claimed to have destroyed almost 12 bunkers, which were created by militants in several districts of violence-hit Manipur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Chief Minister while speaking about his meeting with Amit Shah stated that the Union Home Minister has raised concern about issues like attacks on the house of Union Minister of State for External Affairs RK Ranjan Singh and the residence of state minister Sushindro Meitei. Amit Shah also noted on issues such as the ongoing arson and destruction of government properties and the hampering of the movement of security forces.
