The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High court on Tuesday slammed the Makers of the film Adipurush for portraying Religious characters including Lord Rama and Lord Hanuman in an objectionable manner. The court asked how the Central Board of Film Certification had passed the film for public viewing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Court said such films were putting to test the tolerance of the Hindu community. The court observations were not part of the Order. The Court directed that notice to be issued to Manoj Muntashir, the dialogue writer of the film.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The courts\u2019s obsrvations came while hearing two PIL\u2019s filed by Kuldeep Tiwari and Naveen Dhawan who were seeking restrictiion on the screening of the film.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The vacation bench of Justices Rajesh Singh Chauhan and Shree Prakash Singh asked Deputy Solicitor General SB Pandey to seek instructions as to whether the central government was contemplating to review the certificate granted by the Central Board of Film certification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the course of the hearing, the bench further noted as to how Lord Hanuman, Lord Rama, Lord Laxman were depicted as if they were nothing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The bench refused to accept the plea that the disclaimer of the film said the movie was not based on the Ramayana.The bench said the story of the film showed Lord Rama, Sita, Laxman, Lord Hanuman, Ravana, Lanka etc. and questioned how could the audience be convinced that the film was not based on Ramayana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ranjana Agnihotri the petetioner\u2019s lawyer said the movie will hurt the sentiments of the people who worship Lord Rama, Sita, Hanuman, etc but the manner in which the characters of Ramayana have been portrayed would create disharmony in the society,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The petitioner did not understand from where the content was borrowed as nothing in the film has been narrated in Valmiki\u2019s Ramayana or Tulsi Das\u2019s Ramcharitmanas.
