The WhatsApp Pink is a fake version of the popular messaging app, WhatsApp and it claims to have enhanced features. Reports claim that scammers sent messages asking the social media user to download \u2018New Pink Look WhatsApp with extra features\u2019. This app is a dangerous malware and it allows scamsters to access phone\u2019s data and steal those. The stolen data might include important details such as bank information, contact number, photos etc. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The hackers in their message states that New Pink WhatsApp has officially launched extra features and one must try those. Another message asks users to update their WhatsApp to enjoy new features with a pink look. Notably, downloading WhatsApp pink messages can also come from known contacts whose phone might have been hacked. This fake version of WhatsApp also allows the hackers to send messages to the entire contact list of the victims asking them to download Pink WhatsApp. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The hackers can also steal information like their OTP, contacts, bank account details and more. Upon clicking the link to download \u2018WhatsApp Pink\u2019 a malicious software gets installed in the user\u2019s device. This scam is a red alert for android users only because Apple does not allow its users to download anything from a third party app. By downloading, WhatsApp pink users can lose their control over mobile phones completely.The fraudsters achieve complete control over the users calls and messages too. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Reportedly, cyber security agencies and police departments have warned users that the hackers might use their own personal photos from their phone\u2019s gallery to blackmail them or use it for the wrong purpose. In case, any user has downloaded the fraud app, they can delete it. Following, one should take backup of their phone and then format it.
