In a dramatic yet astounding move, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) supremo Sharad Pawar\u2019s nephew and party leader Ajit Pawar, who joined the Eknath Shinde-Devendra Fadnavis ruling alliance swearing in as the Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister said will fight for the party name and symbol. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Along with Ajit, 9 power packed leaders including some youth faces of the NCP also took oath as Ministers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the oath administered by Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais, apart from Ajit, the list of leaders who were sworn in includes Chhagan Bhujbal, Dhananjay Munde, Dilip Walse Patil, Hasan Mushrif, Aditi Takare, Sanjay Bansode, Aatram Bhagwantra, Anil Patil and Dharmarao Baba Atram.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Addressing a press conference just after Ajit Pawar took oath, he said the decision was taken inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi\u2019s leadership, a reason why he joined the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ajit on a question of whether he has Sharad Pawar\u2019s support in this decision replied he had a telephonic conversation with the NCP chief and has the blessings of all the NCP leaders in their decision to tie hands with ruling Maharashtra alliance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ajit clarifying about the party name and symbol, saying will fight for it and he has the support of majority of MLAs and MPs. He also said all the upcoming elections will be fought in the NCP name and symbol unitedly with NDA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ajit Pawar also slammed the Opposition alliance saying the Opposition is scattered against PM Modi. He added the Opposition is not working towards the country\u2019s interest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the presser, Ajit Pawar, Chhagan Bhujbal and Praful Patel, the recently appointed working president of the NCP were present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While Pawar and Bhujbal addressed the press conference, Patel did not even speak a word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bhujbal did not stop praising PM Modi, his works and the leadership and claimed Sharad Pawar had earlier told them about Modi winning the 2024 Lok Sabha election returning as the Prime Minister for the third consecutive term.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
