The attack was allegedly conducted by Khalistani supporters in their second attack on the consulate in the last five months. There have been no reports of injuries yet and the fire was quickly brought under control by the San Francisco Fire Department.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Spokesperson for the US State Department, Matthew Miller said that the US strongly condemns the vandalism and attempted arson. He added that vandalism or violence against the diplomatic facilities in the United State is a criminal offence. The incident prompted sharp condemnation from the Indian government and India-Americans, who demanded immediate action against those responsible for it.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to reports, the protestors broke open the makeshift security barriers put by the city police and placed two Khalistani flags inside the Consulate premises. Later, two consulate personnel soon removed these flags. The attack of the Indian consulate followed hours after pro-Khalistani supporters pulled down the Indian flag from the Indian high commission in London.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier on Monday, India has asked Canada to urgently act against so-called Khalistan extremists who are planning to hold a protest march to the Indian embassies in Toronto and Vancouver after deliberately trying to blame Indian diplomats and security agencies for the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 45-year-old Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF) chief was reportedly killed in an inter-gang warfare on June 19 in Skh-dominated Surrey town, situated in Vancouver.
