Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party chief Om Prakash Rajbhar is expected to join the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) soon. He might get a cabinet berth in the Uttar Pradesh government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Reports said speculations rife up after UP Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak and state BJP chief Bhupendra Singh Choudhary held a meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi on Monday. Pathak, tasked with the responsibility, has been working for months to bring back Rajbhar in NDA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rajbhar was formerly an NDA ally and was made the Minister for Backward Classes in the first Yogi Adityanath government in 2017, served until 2019, when he was sacked citing anti-alliance activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lately, a change has been noticed in SBSP chief\u2019s stance towards BJP and the Yogi government. He has been backing BJP on most of the issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Recently Rajbhar also supported the Uniform Civil Code. Last year, during the Presidential elections, SBSP had extended its support to NDA\u2019s candidate Droupadi Murmu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Reports said if Rajbhar join hands with the NDA, he will be re-inducted in the Yogi government with a cabinet berth. Also Rajbhar\u2019s party may get 2-3 seats to contest in the Lok Sabha elections due next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2021, SBSP had come to an alliance with Samajwadi Party, the both had contested the last hedl UP assmebly elections 2022 together to fight against the BJP but soon after the results were declared, Rajbhar had snapped ties with Akhilesh Yadav.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Political experts said taking SBSP on board, the NDA would strengthen in UP and the BJP might get benefitted in several Lok Sabha seats across the state such as Ghosi, Ghazipur, Jaunpur, Chandauli and others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The development comes just two days after Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar\u2019s nephew Ajit Pawar joined the ruling Eknath Shinde-Devendra Fadnavis government in Maharashtra taking oath as the Deputy Chief Minister creating a fresh turmoil in the state politics.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
