Senior Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Shirsat on Wednesday signalled a disaffection in the party citing leaders upset over Nationalist Congress Party joining hands with their ruling alliance last Sunday.

Shirsat is a three time MLA currently representing the Aurangabad West Vidhansabha constituency was among the 40 MLAs who in June last year had defected Uddhav Thackeray to join Eknath Shinde in his rebellion.

Shirsat said in politics when an opponent party wants to join, the party needs to take them in and that’s what the BJP did. He said after Ajit Pawar joined the ruling Sena-BJP alliance, some of the Sena leaders got upset as they would not be given their desired position.

He added some of their leaders are still unhappy with NCP coming onboard with them and demanded the cabinet expansion in Maharashtra should be conducted within the next 3-4 days.

Shirsat further said CM Shinde and Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis have already been informed about the dissatisfaction among the MLAs and asked them to resolve the issue. Shirsat claimed the Sena MLAs were not ready for NCP to join and till date are against NCP supremo Sharad Pawar saying when Thackeray was ruling the state as CM, he was used by Pawar and the government was actually run by Pawar not Thackeray.
