America\u2019s multinational techno conglomerate Meta has finally launced its own micro-blogging platform Threads, a rival of the monopoly Twitter globally including India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Threads is a social media platform similar to Twitter that enables the user to share its thoughts in words attaching a picture or a video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The app which went live at 2300 GMT on Wednesday in 100 countries witnessed a record 10 million downloads in just 7 hours across Google Play Store and IOS\u2019s App Store.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The newly launched platform has already posed a challenge for Twitter, putting its Chairman Elon Musk under pressure. Twitter ever since it was founded in 2006 had barely faced any competition making its mark as the only existed striving player in the industry over the years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Threads is being positioned by Meta as an extension of Instagram, though it is a completely standalone platform with its features coinciding with that of Twitter\u2019s and some of Instagram\u2019s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Instagram has a built-in audience of over two billion users, hence, Mark Zuckerberg in a strategic move to take on rival Musk and to prevent itself from facing the challenge of starting from scratch in building audience, has adopted this approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Users just need to download the app first, available on both Google Play Store<\/a> and App Store<\/a>.<\/li>
  2. Once downloaded, you will need your Instagram ID to log in.<\/li>
  3. If already logged on to Instagram, you can directly import all your details from your Instagram account such as username, profile picture, bio, links(if any).<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
