{"id":480097,"date":"2023-07-08T14:32:54","date_gmt":"2023-07-08T09:02:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/?p=480097"},"modified":"2023-07-08T14:33:10","modified_gmt":"2023-07-08T09:03:10","slug":"bengal-panchayat-election-violence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/apnlive.com\/west-bengal-elections\/bengal-panchayat-election-violence\/","title":{"rendered":"9 killed in violence on Bengal panchayat election day, BJP blames TMC \u00a0\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The violence erupted in the Bengal panchayat election where at least nine people have been killed as people were voting for the crucial three-tier panchayat polls on Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After the incident, a war of words broke out between the ruling Trinamool Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party, with both blaming each other for the violence on panchayat election day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the violence, BJP polling agent Madhab Biswas was allegedly killed by the mob while he was heading towards the polling booth. As per the reports, Madhab Biswas was assigned to Falimari gram panchayat of the Coochbehar district as a polling agent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The BJP alleged that when Biswas tried to enter the polling booth, TMC supporters stopped him, and as the situation went out of control, the TMC goons killed him. The TMC had denied the allegations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The supporter of an Independent candidate was also killed in the Kadambagachi area in North 24 Paraganas district, police said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, a person was seen running with the ballot box during panchayat polls.
