Acting DGP of Himachal Pradesh, Satwant Atwal Trivedi, on Tuesday said that 15 Russian tourists were rerportedly stranded in Kasol, and police are trying to establish contact with them. Trivedi said they had received information from the Russian Embassy that 15 Russian tourists are stranded in Kasol. He added the police was trying to establish contact and once they were able to contact the tourists, the police would inform the Russian Embassy about their well being<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trivedi said the rescue teams had been deployed everywhere in the state. He said the police was leaving no stone unturned in its efforts to ensure the safety of the people. Trivedi added four lines had been set up and were trying to contact people across the country to inform them about their well being. The police is also trying to contact hotels seeking details of any tourists stranded there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notably, incessant rains continuing for past few days have wrecked havoc in the hill state claiming 20 lives in the past 48 hours. The rains have wrecked havoc in Himachal Pradesh triggering landslides, causing power disruption, blocking roads and damaging bridges. Tourists were stranded in parts of the hill state, with the loss of infrastructure estimated at between Rs 3000 crore to Rs 4000 crore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
