Himachal Pradesh is witnessing incessant rains triggering landslides and flash floods in the state. As per reports, the northern state has received nearly 249.6 mm of average rainfall between July 1 and July 11 as compared to the normal 76.6mm. The heavy rainfall caused all major rivers in Himachal Pradesh to overflow with the flooding on Beas that passes through Kullu, Manali and Bilaspur district. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As far as records are concerned, for the first time in history of the 146-year-old Victoria bridge in Mandi tower, the River Beas flowed over the bridge and almost submerged the historic Panchvaktra temple. Evidently, the bridge and the temple withstood the fury of Beas, however the newly constructed four-lane-Mandi-Manali highway gave in at many places. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Videos of the aforesaid situation have gone viral across the social media platforms. Netizens opined that the centuries old Panchvaktra temple stands strong in extreme floods while the modern structures are just collapsing. Taking to Twitter, a social media user shared a video of Panchvaktra temple being submerged. Sharing the video, the social media user wrote that when many modern and mammoth structures are collapsing within a few minutes, this centuries-old Panchvaktra temple of Mandi is still confronting the flood.
