Delhi is experiencing flooding this year as a result of Yamuna’s water level rising by an unprecedented 208.66 metres, shattering the previous record of 207.49 metres set in the year 1978.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The NCT of Delhi government is making every effort to keep things under control at ground zero. All Departments are collaborating closely with the Indian Army and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) to rescue and rehabilitate flood-affected residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Chief Secretary GNCTD Naresh Kumar and Divisional Commissioner (Revenue) Aswani Kumar GNCTD, conducted a press conference on Saturday at the NDMC Convention Centre to inform the media of the current situation and the steps the government is taking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said, the Yamuna River’s water level is currently dropping. The water level was 207.43 mm at 11 a.m. on July 15 and by tonight it is projected to drop to 206.72 mm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also said, many residential colonies’ water levels are dropping. People have started returning to their houses in certain locations. And a total of 25,478 people have evacuated from numerous flood affected areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the conference the secratory said, there are currently 44 relief camps set up, each with basic amenities including food, water, and medical services. Since 21 of these aid camps are located in government buildings, the restrooms are suitable. In order to avoid issues with adequate sanitation, such as bathroom problems, etc., the residents of the remaining 23 relief camps are being encouraged to relocate from their temporary homes to designated Government educational buildings, community halls, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Delhi Police Commissioner has instructed all of his field officers to make it easier for the transportation of water tankers and other critical services in the affected regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To restore normalcy, all field staff from the District Administration, Police, Irrigation and Flood Control Department, PWD, and other agencies are cooperating on the ground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As per the instruction, senior IAS and DANICS officers in the number of 66 have also been sent out to help the District Administration enhance the relief efforts in various parts of the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said, the situation is being closely monitored. He also requested the media for any thoughts and suggestions to help Delhi’s predicament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The  officers deployed at different flood-affected areas are as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Model Town, Narela, and Alipur area IAS officer Manish Kumar Gupta (North District lncharge) assisted by Sudhir Kumar and Vikram Singh Malik are deployed. DANICS Officer deployed for support and assistance for this area are <\/strong> Ranjit Kumar Singh,  Gaurav Yadav and Nidhi Sarohe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Civil Lines, Kotwali and Karol area IAS officer Bagh Praveen Kumar Gupta (Central District lncharge) assisted by Shri Vivek Pandey, Ashok Kumar  <\/sup>Chaudhary and Shri Bhupesh Choudhary DANICS Officer deployed for support and assistance for this area are <\/strong>Praveer Kumar Singh, Ajay Kumar and Gurpreet Singh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, for Seelampur, Yamuna Vihar and Karawal Nagar area IAS officer Anil Kumar Singh (North East District Incharge) assisted by Dr. Dilraj Kaur and  Geetika Sharma <\/strong>are deployed. DANICS Officer deployed for support and assistance for this area are <\/strong> Mukesh Rajora, Kapil Chaudhary and Rajesh Chaudhary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Gandhi Nagar, Preet Vihar and Mayur Vihar area IAS officer Dr. Ashish Chandra Verma (East District lncharge) assisted byShri Rahul Singh and  Anjali Sehrawat are deployed. DANICS Officer deployed for support and assistance in this area are <\/strong>Rajiv Ranjan, Rahul Aqqarwal and Vikram Singhal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Defence Colony, Kalkaji and Sarita Vihar IAS officers Alice Vaz R., Shashanka Ala, and Niharika Rai are deployed.
