Heavy showers lashed in some parts of Delhi on Sunday evening. The India Meteorological Department said that the rainfall recorded in the last 24 hours ending 8:30 am was 13.2 mm. On Monday, the weather department noted that the national capital will see generally cloudy skies with light rain and thundershowers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to reports, on Monday evening, the water level of Yamuna was recorded at 205.45 meters, above the danger level of 205.33 . At 7 in the morning, the water level increased marginally to 205.48 metres. Meanwhile, the relief from flooded roads and impaired traffic movement was short lived as evening rains brought back waterlogging issues. On Sunday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal declared financial assistance of Rs 10,000 each for the flood affected area. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the other hand, Uttarakhand witnessed heavy rainfall that triggered landslides and blocked multiple roads. Reportedly, the Ganga also crossed the danger mark in Uttarakhand\u2019s Devprayag and breached the warning level in Haridwar owing to the heavy release of water from the dam on River Alaknanda. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The India Meteorological Department forecasted heavy to very heavy rainfall over Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh in the coming five days. Furthermore, the Dehradun Meteorological Centre has issued an orange alert, warning of heavy rain, in all 13 districts of Uttarakhand on Monday. As per reports, on Sunday, rain lashed in many parts of Uttarakhand, leading to landslides that blocked multiple key roads, including the Badrinath national highway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking to a news agency, the concerned official noted that the abutment of a bridge on the Joshimath-Malari road was also damaged due to the debris and excess water that was flowing into the River Girthi at Niti Ghati in Chamoli district\u2019s Joshimath. Furthermore, the water level in the Kali River in Pithoragarh district\u2019s Dharchula has surpassed the warning level of 889 metres, with multiple other rivers, including River Ganga flowing almost close to the danger mark. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile in Uttar Pradesh\u2019s Mathura, the water level of Yamuna continues to increase after crossing the danger mark . The weather department mentioned that the state recorded \u2018normal\u2019 rainfall of 1.02 centimetres in the past 24 hours ending at 8pm.
