The Gautam Budh Nagar administration has issued a strong warning of possible flooding of river Hindon due to incessant rainfall in Delhi NCR for more than one week on Monday. They urged residents to follow caution and avoid going near to Hindon River for the next 72 hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The district magistrate Manish Kumar Verma said in a statement that people living on the riverbanks should relocate to safer places. As per the reports, the water level at the Hindon River was recorded at 198.95 metres on Sunday evening. The danger level at the bund will be 205.80 metres. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The advisory stated that the water discharged on Sunday evening at the Hindon barrage was 2,627 cusecs. Since there has been heavy rainfall in the region, the water level has been increasing at the Hindon River. Following that, there is a possibility that it might lead to flooding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DM Verma said, looking at the present weather conditions, that the water level of the Hindon is likely to increase, and flooding is possible. That’s why the administration has issued an advisory and urging people who have been residing near riverbanks to shift to safer places.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sub-divisional magistrate Ankit Kumar specified the villages located near the Hindon, which are likely to be flood affected are Kulesara, Shahdara, Tugalpur, and Momnathal, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The water level of the river Yamuna in Noida decreased on Monday and has been currently below the danger mark. The water level in the Yamuna at the Okhla barrage was recorded at 198.85 metres on Monday, as per the Uttar Pradesh irrigation department. The water level was recorded at 200.20 metres on Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The district administration officials informed that 54 villages and around 1,590 hectares of floodplains continue to be flood-hit. The constant efforts have been made by the administration, National Disaster Response Force, State Disaster Response Force, and Gautam Budh Nagar police to rescue residents from flood-affected areas.
