India is a country of many different delicacies, with each state providing a unique flavour to tempt our taste buds. People travel especially to Hyderabad to sample the city’s inventive cuisine because the city is renowned for its culinary experimentation. ‘Gold Idli’ is a new item on the menu of a café in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, as part of another trial of this kind.

Banjara Hills’ Krishna Idly Cafe sells 24 Carat Gold Idli at a staggering Rs 1,200 per dish. Rose petals and edible gold paper are extensively used to present the Idli. The creative meal has gone viral on social media. People have commented on it and some have even questioned whether experiments should be limited.

The Indian infatuation with gold or anything glittery is slowly making its way into our kitchens, and a food business watcher thinks that even though these meals are pricey, they may become quite successful with the correct marketing.
