The public and private sector banks in India will remain closed in August 2023 for 14 days including weekends, as per the holiday calendar of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). In August, India will celebrate multiple festivals and special occasions like Tendong Lho Rum Faat, Independence Day, Parsi New Year (Shahenshahi), Tithi of Srimanta Sankardeva, First Onam, Thiruvonam and Raksha Bandhan. Bank holidays during these festivals will vary from state to state. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Reportedly, though private and public sector banks will remain closed for 14 days in the month, internet banking services will be available throughout the country on all the days. Notably, in accordance with the RBI guidelines, the Rs 2000 denomination notes can be exchanged till September 30, 2023.\u00a0 People who are planning to visit the banks for the aforesaid purpose should check the holiday list in order to plan their visit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Here is the list of bank holidays for August 2023:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n August 6: First Sunday of the month. <\/p>\n\n\n\n August 8: Tendong Lho Rum Faat.
