On the occasion of Income Tax Day, fintech firm PhonePe launched its Income Tax Payment app feature. According to reports, it is an attempt to make income tax submission hassle free for many people by avoiding its long process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With this new feature, taxpayers, namely individuals or businesses, can easily pay self-assessment and advance tax directly from the PhonePe app. In addition, all this can be carried out without the need to log in to the IT portal. Notably this feature comes at a time when people are complaining of technical snags on the website. It is considered that this feature will not only provide an alternative of tax filing but also minimize load on the website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to reports, PhonePe has partnered with PayMate, a digital B2B payments and service provider to enable this feature. Under the aegis of this new feature, users can pay their income tax by using credit card or UPI. On credit-card payments, UPI users will get a 45-day-interest-free period and reward points on their tax payments. However, reward policy varies for different banks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Following the completion of the payment, taxpayers will receive a Unique Transaction Reference (UTR) number as a proof of tax payment. The UTR will be available within a day, whereas the challan will be generated within two working days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Niharika Saigal, Head of Bill Payments and Recharge Business at PhonePe expressed that they are thrilled to announce the launch of their latest feature, the convenience of paying income taxes on the PhonePe app itself. Saigal added that paying taxes can often be a complex and time-consuming task, and PhonePe is now offering its users a hassle-free and secure way to fulfill their tax obligations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
