Rajinikanth plays the role of jailer Muthuvel Pandian in this action-packed entertainer, while Sreenivasan&#8217;s film revolves around his character and a group of prisoners escaping from a high-security prison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sakkir Madathil&#8217;s Malayalam film, also titled Jailer, is scheduled to be released on August 10. Madathil claims to have registered the title Jailer with the Kerala Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) in August 2021, well before the announcement of the Tamil film&#8217;s title. He has requested Sun Pictures, the production company behind Rajinikanth&#8217;s film, to consider releasing their movie under an alternative title in Malayalam to avoid confusion and potential harm to both projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, Sun Pictures has declined this request and plans to proceed with the same title. As a result, they have moved the Madras High Court over the matter. In response, Madathil has filed a counter in court, and the hearing is scheduled for August 2.
