Meta Threads app on Tuesday unveiled multiple new features, including the new following tab with a chronological timeline. Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram, affirmed that Meta is working on a desktop website for Threads, which is likely to go live in the coming days. According to reports, this is Threads second update following its launch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Considering Thread\u2019s new feature update, \u2018following tab with a chronological timeline\u2019, users can get a dedicated feed of posts from the following accounts in one place in chronological order. Notably, the updated user interface (UI) of the Threads app looks a lot similar to Twitter (X). In addition, the update also allows users to customise the activity feed with filters like follows, quotes, reposts and introduces a follow button to enable users to quickly follow a user directly from the activity feed. With this update, it is considered that Threads is offering more control to users on how they can consume content on the newly launched social media platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Besides \u201cfollowing tab with a chronological timeline\u201d, Threads also introduced other features like \u201cFor you\u201d and \u201ctranslation\u201d feature. According to multiple media reports, ‘For you’ is a version of the Threads feed that contains postings from profiles that users have chosen to follow and accounts that have been recommended to them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the other hand, the Translations function translates Threads entries in the feed automatically based on the language they were posted in and the viewer’s language preferences. With this new feature, users can view a translation for their language in a thread that is written in a different language by tapping on the translation button in the bottom right corner of a post or reply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
