Recent drone footage from Noida has highlighted the severity of the monsoon havoc, coinciding with fresh alerts issued by the IMD (India Meteorological Department) for various regions in the country. North India has experienced widespread destruction due to relentless rains and floods. In a concerning incident, more than 350 cars belonging to an online cab service, Ola, parked in a dumpyard near Ecotech 3, Greater Noida, have been submerged as the water level of Hindon river rose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The situation has prompted an outpouring of images on Twitter, with many expressing grief, while others are holding the government accountable for the crisis. The Gautam Buddh Nagar administration has issued a flood warning for low-lying areas along the Hindon river, leading to the evacuation of around 200 people from five villages to shelter homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In response to the heavy rain and thunderstorms that have plagued the city since morning, all schools in Noida and Greater Noida have been instructed to remain closed today. District Magistrate Manish Kumar Verma ordered the closure of schools up to class 12 and informed parents through WhatsApp messages about the holiday. Schools that were open today have been asked to cancel all functions due to the inclement weather.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
