According to police officials on Sunday, a 25-year-old Indian Army soldier named Javed Ahmad Wani, stationed in Ladakh but on leave, was reported missing from Kulgam district in Jammu and Kashmir. His car was later found in Paranhall around 8 pm on the same day. Security forces have initiated a large-scale search operation to locate the missing soldier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Some reports, citing his family, suggested that Wani might have been kidnapped from his vehicle in Kulgam district. However, the police have not yet confirmed the abduction claims. According to these reports, Wani had gone to Chowalgam to buy groceries, but when he didn’t return home, his family started searching for him in nearby areas and surrounding villages. During the search, they discovered a pair of his slippers and blood stains in his car in Paranhal village.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is worth noting that last year, another army soldier named Sameer Ahmad Malla was abducted and killed by the banned terrorist group Lashker-e-Taiba in Jammu and Kashmir’s Budgam district. The investigation revealed that Malla was held captive by Yusuf Kantoo, a prominent member of the terrorist organization. The police traced the involvement of a local villager named Ather Illahi Sheikh, who had lured Malla into a meeting and was working for the banned terror outfit. Subsequently, Malla was kidnapped and killed by four individuals, including Sheikh, and his body was buried with the use of a shovel obtained from Sheikh’s residence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
