Opposition MPs of the Indian National Democratic Inclusive Alliance who visited Manipur to assess the situation on the ground to meet the President of India Droupadi Murmu today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to reports, the opposition leaders will discuss about the situation in Manipur where the ethnic clash between two communities has taken many lives since May 4. The opposition will also discuss the steps to bring normalcy to the state. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The report suggests that apart from Manipuir issuer, Haryana\u2019s issue and the functioning of Parliament will also be raised with President Murmu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The delegation of 21 MPs of the opposition alliance INDIA on Saturday visited Manipur which has seen ethnic strife and violence on the ground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The opposition leaders had also submitted a memorandum to Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey before leaving and demanded urgent rehabilitation and resettlement of the affected people to bring peace and harmony to the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court of India on Tuesday summoned the DGP of Manipur at the next hearing on August 7 and said a complete breakdown of law and order and constitutional machinery in Manipur and the state police had lost control over the situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Earlier, the opposition had demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should make a statement in Parliament on the Manipur situation, Congress general secretary KC Venugopal on Tuesday sought to know when he will discuss the serious issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Congress chief in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge had sought an appointment from President Murmu on behalf of the opposition parties to discuss the Manipur issue, according to the reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Opposition parties are demanding a thorough discussion on the ongoing violence in Manipur in both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha. They are also requesting a response from the Prime Minister during the parliamentary session.
