On Wednesday, opposition parties spoke with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to ask for early scheduling of the no-confidence debate so they could take part in the deliberations on bills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to reports, the floor leaders of every INDIA party in the Lok Sabha said in writing that they oppose the discussion taking place during the final three days of the session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to a senior leader of the opposition party, they told the Speaker that the administration is exploiting this occasion to pass several laws and that they want to take part in the discussion. He also said, they can take part in the debate over the legislative agenda if the vote of no-confidence is taken as soon as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, the opposition parties are reportedly considering either a censure motion or a no-confidence resolution in the Rajya Sabha to voice their dissatisfaction. The INDIA alliance’s leaders asserted that some INDIA parties might not support a no-confidence move against a functionary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, since neither House allows for the introduction of a censure motion, this may be easier said than done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yet, an MP may use such words to make his point in his notice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to former secretary general of the Lok Sabha P Sreedharan, any member may give notice of a motion to be moved. It would be crucial to choose the right terms for a motion. He also said, both Houses voted a resolution against war in the Middle East when Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was in office. However, there is no mechanism for a censure motion against any member of Parliament, according to P Sreedharan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the meeting of INDIA parties on Wednesday, a senior member of the Congress from the Rajya Sabha began reading out the draught of the proposed motion when he was halted by a Rajya Sabha floor leader of a non-Congress party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
