The Punjab government has sanctioned over 4,745 applications which is the second highest application in India under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF) scheme for a larger range of post-harvest management projects and community farming assets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Punjab Horticulture Minister S. Chetan Singh Jauramajra said in a statement that with this development, Punjab has secured the second position in the country as of July 31 for sanctioning the highest number of applications under the AIF scheme. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The minister said Punjab becomes the second state after Madhya Pradesh for sanctioning the highest applications for the projects. The state has sanctioned a total of 4,745 applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Minister Jauramajra informed that the top five states in terms of sanctioning applications are Madhya Pradesh (6,316 ), Punjab (4,745), Maharashtra (4,178), Uttar Pradesh (2,244), and Karnataka (2,029).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He further said the top five districts in Punjab in terms of total applications received are Bathinda (1,095), Fazilka (1,015), Patiala (842), Sri Muktsar Sahib (784), and Sangrur (783).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He mentioned that with the help of the AIF, the state is setting up many custom hiring centres, primary processing units, storage structures, cold stores, and so on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Department of Horticulture in Punjab is the nodal agency for this scheme, as stated by the minister. He announced that the state has been allocated Rs. 4,713 crore out of the country’s total financing facility of Rs. 1 lakh crore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The AIF scheme offers eligible activities a 3 percent interest subvention on term loans up to Rs 2 crore, with a maximum interest rate of nine percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Beneficiaries have access to the scheme’s benefits for up to 7 years and can combine them with various subsidies. The opportunity to create up to 25 projects is available to each beneficiary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The farmers and stakeholders in Punjab were appreciated by S. Jauramajra for their unwavering commitment which has propelled the state’s agriculture and horticulture sectors to new heights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
